Crafting Parties For Kids

partyI have been on a real crafting kick, lately. Not actually doing the crafts, but thinking about different ways a person could turn their love of crafting and the arts into a business they enjoy.

I love the arts, especially textile arts. I am am very interested in working to keep these arts alive for our future generations.

I remember as a child making little vases out of clay in school. We did some weaving, beading, and other things, too. When my daughter was little, she did some crafting in school, but she was not exposed to the array of arts that I was when I was in school.

Most likely, the schools do not have the time or budget to delve into arts and crafts like we did way back when.

So, I was thinking, wouldn’t it be a blast to do crafting parties for kids? Parents go to great lengths to put on theme parties of all kinds, wouldn’t it be great to give them an opportunity to entertain their kids, do something unique, and help keep the arts alive, too? And, the kids can be exposed to learning something that may become a passion for them later in life.

Projects would have to be quick and simple, something they could complete in an hour or so, and take home with them.

For younger children, maybe a beading party, where they could make little bracelets. How about weaving? They could make a small wall hanging, or place mat. Felting would be fun, too. Kids could make a felted soap! How fun would that be?

For older kids, a soap making, lotion making, or candle making party would be fun. Jewelry making, loom knitting, the list goes on.

With the proper networking, I believe a person could build a very comfortable career.

Someone with advanced skills could even work with adults, doing gathering for people who are looking for ways to supplement their incomes through crafting. I think women would love to go to a design your own jewelry party.

The possibilities are endless.
